About PermitVector
We turn public permit records into the day's first buying signal.
PermitVector is an independent permit-intelligence company. Every morning we read the official open-data permit feeds across Texas, Colorado, Florida, Arizona and California, classify each new permit by trade, and map it to the contractors who should act on it next. That is the whole product: the signal, early, before the homeowner has picked anyone.
Why it exists
Most contractor lead products sell the same form-fill to five or six competitors at once, and by the time you call, the homeowner has already fielded a stack of pitches. A building permit is the opposite of that. It is a public record, filed before the next trade has been hired, and almost nobody is working it as a daily signal. A new roof is a solar and insulation opportunity. A new-construction permit means HVAC, electrical, fencing, and a pool are all coming. We built PermitVector to surface that adjacency the day it files, so a small contractor can reach a real homeowner first instead of buying their way into a crowded queue.
How the data works
Everything comes from official public open-data portals published by the cities and counties we cover, plus state licensing and regulatory agencies. We do not scrape login-gated systems. Each permit is normalized to one schema, classified by trade, and tagged with the adjacent buyers who should act on it. The full source-by-source breakdown, trade-classification confidence, and legal basis are on the methodology page. One thing we state plainly: what you see on a lead is what the government record publishes. We do not sell owner phone numbers or emails anywhere; that is a specialist business, and each lead links to registered providers who do it under their own terms.
Who is behind it
PermitVector is independent and owner-operated, built in 2026 after watching good contractors overpay for recycled leads. It runs lean: when you email PermitVector, a person who actually works on the data answers, and the roadmap is set by what live subscribers ask for, not by a sales quota. PermitVector LLC is an independent company and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government agency.
